OCEANSHIP
The depths of an artist can be found within their art. If you identify with my music you already know all there is to know about me.
The rest is simply...that consciousness in different environments. I grew up in a small town in Ontario named Waterdown. It was a farm town primarily with a few small suburbs, now it's a suburb town with a few small farms. We lived out in the country for a while and then moved into the suburbs. But these weren't No Man's Land suburbs. Across the street is The Bruce Trail. It's a pretty special area in which to grow up. I spent, and spend, a lot of time in nature. Until I was 16 I wanted to be a fisherman. I am very drawn to the ocean. I later changed my focus to marine biology. I began a career in music as a singer. I was always singing. I would sing around the house, and in the car, and eventually with my girlfriend in the car. She started asking me to sing to her a cappella, and I went from there. I went away to university to be a scientist of sorts I suppose, but realized that it was a musician I wanted to be. So I ran an ad in two local papers that read Experienced Singer Seeks Band. I received many calls, and that lead to years of forming and reforming bands, rehearsing all the time, and eventually signing a record deal with ARISTA/BMG out of NYC. I am independent now and am simply writing and recording the best music I know how. I am a one man band. I write the material and play with an assortment of professionals live and on recordings. |
