Kaleb Hikele is a musical pirate, always looking for his next folk, blues, rock, soul or jazz outlet, who can also be found on the stage or the studio floor as ‘The Sun Harmonic’. Kaleb has spent the majority of his life on the stage and in the recording studio, experimenting with composition and genre while he expands his collection of original music. He is a Canadian musician who has indulged in his latest independent release, recorded at home and released on handmade CD as a collection of demos called ‘Coloured Sketches‘. Born and raised in the Canadian hideaway of St.Thomas, Ontario, Kaleb Nathaniel Hikele was submerged in to the world of music at the age of five with classical piano and vocal lessons. After playing live and recording rock albums with highschool bands Far From Freedom, The Capitol, and his own solo projects, Hikele moved to the city of Toronto looking for a solo venture on his own. In the dawn of 2009, the concept of a stage moniker was realized and Kaleb would soon appear on stage and with a debut studio album as ‘The Sun Harmonic‘. He performed routinely on dozens of stages in the city and spent a summer building a basement studio in the east end of Toronto, aptly titled ‘The Townhouse Recording Facility & Sound Studio’. In 2010 he released two LP's, Chemistry and Season, before two years of silence. His next studio album was released with Matt Powell under the fictitious name The Broadview Band in 2012, as a soul & blues album named Love Is Gone Away. He quickly moved on to form rock group The Other Birds who debuted in late 2012 on the stage and on record. This was only one of his current collaborations, another was with his lifelong friend and highschool drummer Zack Buck, resulting in an on-going rock n’ roll recording project called The Joker and The King. In September of 2013, Coloured Sketches was offered to the public as his latest display of original material. Kaleb Hikele is a prolific artist who has kept a constant and varied recorded output since 2004. Currently he either appears on record or on the stage as The Sun Harmonic or with rock trio The Other Birds. Off stage, he operates a home recording space in the heart of downtown Toronto where he and his friends build rock, folk, blues and soul records that have rippled around the globe. Kaleb is also a piece in the puzzle of an online record shop & music community called Moon Melody. His one word philosophy… Listen.

A portion of the proceeds from this show will be given to the Georgian Bay Symphony. In 1972 a seed of hope was planted. The local musicians of Grey-Bruce County had a vision to grow. Today, the symphony is an integral part of this region's cultural fabric.
